More than twenty years ago, Tom Scholz advised newbie recordists that old (they were old even then) Scully tape recorders were a high quality piece worth pursuing. And after more than 12 trillion servings of "More Than A Feeling", who can disagree?

The two-track version of this germanium-fired crunch machine is our favorite for rock & roll mixdown. It took MCI ace Steve Sadler a few minutes to master this beast, but when he was finished, it not only purred, it rubbed his legs! Combined with Dolby SR and modern high-output tape, it sounds even better than new. Truly one of our secret weapons! (Oops!)
