Hammond________________________________________Serious Analog at Tuffy's Barn

The centerpiece of our keyboard collection is our 1941 Hammond "E". Not many of these were made-it was pretty pricey even back in the 40's-and it is the only one we know of available at a professional recording studio. It is an extraordinarily big sounding organ, similar to a B3/C3, only more so. If you are used to getting organ sounds from a digital keyboard, you are in for a pleasant surprise. Not only will the warmth and depth of tone be a revelation, but the rugged, playable construction of the dual manuals themselves really allows a player to "open up", without worrying about breaking keys or knocking over the keyboard stand. We have a gorgeous blonde (C-3) waiting in the vestibule, but everyone falls in love with the "E". Leslie doesn't have to wait around, though. Here she's all miked up and ready to make sweet music with the "E".

In case you have forgotten how much class a Hammond brings to a recording, here's a website with some fast-loading sound files to refresh your memory.
